LLC "Azot-2" becomes first resident of "Kuzbass" Industrial SEZ
The government of Kuzbass and LLC "Azot-2" (a subsidiary of Kemerovo JSC "Azot") have signed an agreement to operate within the "Kuzbass" industrial and production-type Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Under the agreement, a modular liquid carbon dioxide production plant with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons will be built on the premises of JSC "Azot" by 2025. The investment will exceed 840 million rubles, creating at least 45 new high-productivity jobs.
The application for resident status was prepared by LLC "Research and Development Center" in just 14 days.
The new production facility is expected to fully meet the demand for liquid carbon dioxide in the Siberian Federal District. LLC "Azot-2" will source CO₂ from by-product gases in JSC "Azot’s" ammonia production cycle, ensuring competitive pricing due to low production costs.
Carbon dioxide is used to carbonate beverages, in metallurgy to create a protective layer during metal smelting and welding, in pharmaceuticals for manufacturing medications, and in agriculture for storing vegetables and fruits. Liquid carbon dioxide has even found application in artificial cloud dispersal!
